Shades of Hawaii
The recurring visual theme of the Big Island is the boldly striped scene of the soft white of the clouds, sky blue, deep cobalt sea, bright white of the surf, and dense charcoal base line of lava. Check the perimeter of its 4 thousand square miles and you'll always find it. (re size: you could fit the other seven Hawaiin islands on the Big Island and have plenty of room for a few more).
